Traffic Engineering for Hard Real Time Multicast Applications Using Genetic Algorithm

چکیده
In this paper, the problem of finding a near-optimal routing solution for a set of real time applications with multicast traffic flows in a meshed core network is studied. Such kind of network is typically a core network of automobile, airplane, or industry control networks. We will introduce our routing planning methodology based on a genetic algorithm, and will focus on the model with Earliest Deadline First (EDF) scheduler. The properties and schedulability conditions of EDF scheduler are also analyzed in this paper. We will show how hard real time QoS can be guaranteed through proper routing and delay bounds allocation. At last, based on the calculation result, the performance of our methodology will also be discussed. Although this work originates from the analysis of some industrial core networks, the methodology introduced in this paper is also suitable for solving similar problems in other networks.

Row/Column-First: A Path-based Multicast Algorithm for 2D Mesh-based Network on Chips
In this paper, we propose a new path-based multicast algorithm that is called Row/Column-First algorithm. The proposed algorithm constructs a set of multicast paths to deliver a multicast message to all multicast destination nodes. The set of multicast paths are all of row-first or column-first subcategories to maximize the multicast performance. The selection of row-first or column-first appro...

Due to an anticipated increase in air traffic during the next decade, air traffic control in busy airports is one of the main challenges confronting the controllers in the near future. Since the runway is often a bottleneck in an airport system, there is a great interest in optimizing the use of the runway. The most important factors in aircraft landing modeling are time and cost. For this reas...

An efficient assignment and scheduling of tasks is one of the key elements in effective utilization of heterogeneous multiprocessor systems. The task scheduling problem has been proven to be NP-hard is the reason why we used meta-heuristic methods for finding a suboptimal schedule. In this paper we proposed a new approach using TRIZ (specially 40 inventive principles). The basic idea of thi...
متن کاملMulti-Tree Multicast Traffic Engineering for Software-Defined Networks
Although Software-Defined Networking (SDN) enables flexible network resource allocations for traffic engineering, current literature mostly focuses on unicast communications. Compared to traffic engineering for multiple unicast flows, multicast traffic engineering for multiple trees is very challenging not only because minimizing the bandwidth consumption of a single multicast tree by solving t...
